KING AND CABINET
CORDIAL RELATIONS WITH LABOUR.
H i- Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON. November S. Air C. G. Ammon, M.P.. late Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty, writing in tho “ Sunday Express ” on the relationship between the Crown and the Labour Government, says: “It | would be no exaggeration to say that the relations between His Majesty and Air MacDonald wore cordial. Air Thomas, who usually has a good story to tell, was not an unwelcome visitor and Air Henderson, whose duties took him more to the Court than those of the other Ministers, was certainly a persona grata. Air Harry Gosling, Minister for Transport, was quite popular. “No one in touch with King George could fail to be agreeably surprised at his wide general knowledge. It is a matter almost for surprise to realise how smoothly everything worked during the nine months. There is not a member of the late Government who does not leave office with added respect for King George, and greater appreciation of liis value as chief executive officer of the State.”
