(Received Decern her 21, 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 21., Owing to the employers refusing to reduce the working week from fortyeight to forty-six hours, coke workers throughout the State intimated that they would cease work on December 31.
At 11.30 a.m tho City Fire Brigade received a call to 215, .Waltham Road, a seevn-roomed dwelling, owmed and occupied by Mrs Ida Kent. The outbreak was caused through a painter igniting some .weather boarding accidentally with a blow lamp. It was, however, subdued early, and the damage done is estimated at c£2L
