ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
FOUND DEAD. (Per Prrss Association*.) GORE, April 16. Edward Deahn, aged fifty-five. a plantation worker at Dusky,' near Ta panui, was found dead in bed yesterday. LITTLE BOY RUN DOWN. At Rangiora this afternoon, a little boy named Roy Cosgrove, five and a half years old, son of Mr A. W. Cosgrove, Ashley Street, was knocked down by a motor-car at the intersection of Good Stieet and High Street, and two wheels passed over the lower part of his booy. He received attention at Dr King’s surgery and was then conveyed home. He is much bruised about the lower part of his body and wa* in great pain. The car was driven by Mr \Y. King. A GIG ACCIDENT. Injuries to the bead were sustained by Hugh W. Johnston, a: farmer at The Ayonhoad soldiers’ settlement, Through the capsize of a gig on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred in Angela Street. Riocarton. The horse became fractious and, a trace breaking, the animal got out of control, with the Johnston was admitted to the Public Hospital, where he is making favourable progress.
