PREMIER’S INTENTIONS. ARRIVING IN ELECTORATE TO-DAY. “I do not intend to g© further south than the Oamaru electorate today,” the Prim© Minister stated this morning, when asked if he proposed to go to Dunedin to-night. Mr Massey confirmed the announcement that he would speak in Palmerston South to-morrow night. ” You will be opening the campaign on Mr Lee’s behalf ?” he was asked. ‘'•'That is tire case,” replied Mr Massey. The Prime Minister did not state how long he would remain in the Oamary electorate. He said he would be in Christchurch on Anzac Day, but he could not state at present on wbatda v he would: arrive in the city. MANY NEW ENROLMENTS. (Per Press Association*. ) OAMARU, April 15. The roll for the Oamaru by-election closed on Saturday, over a thousand new’ enrolments having been made. Of these, quite six hundred are new names—electors coming of age and new arrivals in the district. The contest will be confined to the two candidates, the Hon E. P. Lee (Reform) and Mr J. A. Macpherson (Liberal-Labour). Neither candidate has spoken yet, but tffe campaign will open in real earnest on Tuesday night, the Prime Minister being announced to speak at Palmerston.
