FOUND IN THE SEA.

BODY RECOVERED AT SUMNER. Ju&t lrefore eleven o’clock this morning it was reported that tho body of a man had been seen floating in the surf near Scarborough, Sumner. Constable Hampton went down to try to recover the body. A heavy sea was running, and the body had drifted towards the rocks at Bell’s Baths. It was fully clothed—with boots, dark trousers and a dark shirt. The body apparently is that of Baird, who. it is stated, jumped from the pier into the walijr a fortnight ago to-day. The body was landed at 11.20, and was conveyed to the life-boat shed at Boat Harbour, and it will be removed lo the morgue this afternoon.
