GENEROUS OFFER OF MR P. NATHAN.

WELLINGTON, November 30.
_An offer has been made by Mr P. Nathan to the_ Returned Soldiers' Association, Wellington, of a block of 137 acres oi land close to Petonc for soldiers’ homes at £2OO per acre. The land is worth iar more, some of it having been sold at £BOO per acre. The assertion, at a meeting to consider the ofter, thought it a very generous one. air Nathan agreed to let them have it parcel by parcel, as the men could u O l U P’ “'d not insist on the whole block being purchased at once. I he meeting decided to obtain a report within ton days, showing what sura each applicant would have to find. Various suggestions were made as to building material. It was stated amongst fuller tilings that a party of elovoii men wore prepared to crect’a factory on tlio site and build houses at the lowest price.
