The name of M’Fndden’s Road was changed by the City Council last nmhfc to Merton Road, in accordance with a petition of residents.
Danger to children caused by lh o driving of loose cattle near schools was the subject of n recommendation by the By-laws Coin mi t tee of the City Council that the following by-law (should come into force on December 10::—“ Loose horses, cattle or sheep may not ho driven along Office Road, Rugby Street, that portion of I’apanui Road between Bealev Avenue ami Leinster Road, Chancellor Street, that portion of Slater Street between Guild Street and Shirley Road, ’Warden Street and Guild Street, in St Albans Ward of the City of Christchurch.“ The report was adopted with the addition of St Albans Lane.
