Peschanel, who only assumed Presidential office this year, was not unexpected. He is suffering from a nervous breakdown, which on at least two occasions has placed his life in danger. His fall from tho window of a moving train was a sensational occurrence, and! more recently he was rescued from drowning. He had fallen into a pond in tho chateau grounds at Rambouilles, and he was in an exhausted condition when rescued by a gardener.)
