WEDDINGS.

A very pretty wedding took place ai the Cathedral, Harbadoes Street, on September 14, when Mr Wilfred AHopkins, only son of Mr and Mrs F Hopkins, of Christchurch, was married to Ethel Mary Newman, fifth daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Newman, of Christchurch. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a gown of ivory crepe do chine and georgette tastefully embroidered with gold. The train was of satin lined with crepe de chine and georgette, tin toilette being completed with sprays of orange blossom.' Her veil was arranged in mob cap fashion with tin usual wreath of orange blossoms, and she 'carried a beautiful shower bouquet. The bride was attended by her, niece, Miss Phyllis Hcndren, as train bearer, wearing a dross of delicate'blue, ombrodered with pink rose buds. Miss Eilcqn Newman (sister of tho bride) wore a dainty frock of lavender crepe do chine trimmed with,pale pink, with cap of pink tulle completed with a wreath of pink rose buds. Mr W, A. Atwill attended the bridegroom as best man.
