SOLDIERS' GRATUITY.
MR HUGHES’S PROPOSALSSTDNKT, November 17. It is understood that. Mr Hughes proposes to pay a .soldiers’ gratuity of Is 6d per day from embarkation to the official signing of peace on June 21, and to allow volunteers who did not leave the country a. shilling a day for the time they spent in camp.
