MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
TO DAY’S GASES. CHRISTCHURCH. (Before Air S. E. Al’Carthy, S.AI.) DRUNKENNESS. A male first offender was convicted and fined 10s, or twenty-four hours' imprisonment, for being found drunk in Manchester Street on October 5. Another male statutory first offender was convicted and fined 10s. or twen-ty-four hours’ imprisonment, for being found drunk in Cashel Street on October 4. Frances Ellen Gore, a second offender. was fined £l, in default seven days’ imprisonment. BREACH OF PROHIBITION ORDER. Peter Bryson was charged with committing a breach of a prohibition order by procuring liquor during the currency of the order. He was also charg- | ed with being found drunk in Colombo ! Street on October 4. Sub-Inspector Alullany stated that it was the first breach of the order that had occurred for three years. The Magistrate imposed a fine of £2, or seven days’ imprisonment, for the breach of the order, and convicted and discharged accused on tho charge of drunkenness, PROHIBITION ORDER ISSUED. Alary Cnt-hfield. a second offender, was convicted and discharged on a. charge of being found drunk in Lichfield Street. At accused’s request a prohibition order was issued, to operate over the whole of New Zealand for n period of twelve months. CIVIL OASIS. Judgment- for plaintiff by default was given in the following cases:—J. B. Smith r. Arthur Poison, £l2 2s; Cotton Bros., Ltd., v. Charles Young! £5 10s 6d; Arthur Boniface O’Brien v. Percy Oliver Shielton. £6 Bs--J. Balkan tyne and Co. v. Philip H. Beere. £,9 4s 8d; K. B. Owen v. N. Tindall, £7 10s. JUVENILE COURT. A seven months’ old child, who was shown not to be under nroper control was committed to the Oliristehvrt-oh Receiving Home.
