SOCIAL WORK.
AMERICAN SISTERS CHOSEN. Some time ago Anglican church people decided to establish a sisterhood and a home so that organised social work among girls might be carried on by the Church in Christchurch. It was resolved to get sisters from America to come over and take charge, in order that the task might be carried on by experienced and skilful workers. Six sisters of the Order of St Anne have now_ been chosen, and will sail from Vancouver in October, arriving in New Zealand in November The seniors of the group are:—Mother Alary Frances, and Sisters Mary Agnes and Mary Magdalen. Funds for the establishment of the home are coming in fairly well, although a thorough canvass has not yet been made. The site of the homo has not so far been decided upon, but it will be somewhere in the country and yet close to Christchurch. The six sisters will he in sole charge.
