T)io results were most gratifying, and it was expected that the £3OOO aimed at would bo realised during the afternoon.

The sellers were stationed at every strong point in the city, and as they sold out, or became weighted down with cash, they returned to the counting house at the Chamber of Commerce. Hero Mrs Hastie was in charge of tea tables, and the Itidv workers in particular wore grateful for the refreshment.
The art union will he drawn publicly to-night, as soon ns tho returns are complete, 'ftnd it is intended to announce the result at 0 p.m. Mr G. Ta Donaldson vtII conduct the drawing under the superintendence of the Mayor and a police representative.
