EDUCATION BOARD.

The AgrigijHure and Manual and Technical Gommittce recommended that Air Alartin bo asked to prepare a scheme for introducing R combined course of dairy science arid agriculture to lie taught in shine of the schools situated in suitable localities. A scheme for beautifying and improving the surroundings of public schools in tho Canterbury district was deferred till next meeting of the board, FINANCE. Tho I inanco Committee reported that accounts amounting to XIGG3 Is Gd had been passed for payment. MISCELLANEOUS. It was decided that the annual meetings of householders bo held on April 11, t A letter was received from the Education Department in Wellington recommending that the lunches which the children brought with them to school might be supplemented by hot cocoa, milk or soup, or, in cases where' cooking classes exist or where suitable provision could be made, a complete meal mmlrt bo provided at a small cost. It was suggested that the cost of (he noccsaarv apparatus and utensils might be met out of the funds at the disposal of committees. The matter was referred to the Technical Committee. The Aliuister of Education, the Hon J A. ITanan, met the board this afternoon.
