There was a large entry of 3150 birds iu tlio poultry market io-duj r . Mi Merretfc drew the attention of farmers to tile Governor's advico in his speech at Ashburton on the poultry industry. The quality of birds is greatly on the improve in Canterbury,' and high prices were obtained. Table chickens realised 6s to 9s 2d, hens 2s to 5s 6d, ducks 3s 6d to 7s 2d, geese 6s to 7s 3d, tur* keys 28s, .pullets 3s Cd to 9a 'Jd, all per pair. ' The supply of eggs continues plentiful, the continual warm weather being conductive to production. Canterbury Egg Circle first grade Is od, second Is 3d to Is 4d, store eggs Is 2d' to Is 3d per dozen. The export during the week has been 1182 head of poultry and 1048 dozen eggs, representing for Canterbury producers £305.
