THE WEATHER

Perfect summer weather again prevailed in Christchurch to-day, and the atmosphere was decidedly warm. Blue skies are still general throughout New Zealand. Auckland reported blue sky and a light soii'-easter. All northernmost stations experienced similar conditions. East Cape reported a cloudy 1 sky, and a moderate sea was running. Gisborno and Napier are still enjoying the bright summer weather that has been their lot for some considerable time. ' The sky was liazy at Cape Palliser. An overcast sky was in evidence at Wanganui, and a light nor'wester was blowing. A cloudy sky was the order at Wellington, and a fresh nor-iv ester was blowing. Overcast sides and dark gloomy weather were reported from Westport and Greymouth. Timaru and Oamaru experienced blue skies. Similar conditions prevailed at Dunedin. Gloomy weather was general at all stations south of Dunedin. liie barometer is falling fast in the South Island, but is high in the north. > The Government Meteorologist's forecast for twenty-four hours from 9 a.m. this day:—The indications are for northerly winds, strong to gale, and veering by west to south after about thirty-sis' hours.
