FREIGHT RATES.
INCREASE INEVITABLE. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright (Received May 16, 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, May 15. Shippers confirm Sir James Mills's announcement that an early advance in freight rates is inevitable, owing to the increase of wages. A rise of 10 or 15 per cent on freights is mentioned, but no advance on passenger rates is anticipated at present.
