It is the heaviest that has heen experienced for years. A tremendous sea is running, and the arriving vessels are severely buffeted. A number of the outgoing craft have returned to port and many arc sheltering. Tho rain is widespread and torrential, over eight inches having been registered in the city, and other records are even heavier. The rivers are rising and big floods are feared. Wide areas of the lowlands are already under water and the residents are moving. During the storm a hut collapsed at Waratah and a man named O'Donohue was killed.
