EDUCATING THE PUBLIC.
TUBERCULAR DISPENSARY OPENED. A MODEST BEGINNING. Yesterday morning, at nine o'clock, the tubercular dispensary, until lately the Armagh Street relief depot, was opened as a centre from which might radiate advice and information regarding the treatment of consumption in its earlier stages, and of the precautions that should be taken by infected persons. Tli© dispensary will welcome any person who is suffering from consumption in any stage, and a trained nurse will be on hand to give- advice, and later to visit the homes. It is felt that, while the Sanatorium can grapple with a large number of cases, the dispensary will be an invaluable educative factor in the community, especially in the instruction of " contacts " against contagion. Yesterday there were a few inquiries, but the existence of the dispensary is hardly known at present. Doubtless much useful work lies before it.
