A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. "United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received December 28, 10 a.m.) HOBART, December 23. William Wheeler, a miner, had a. terrible experience. He was working in a raco alone, when a big stono foil, pinning hint by tho legs. He was not discovered for six days, and water was passing over tho lower portion of his body tho whole time. He is expected to recover. COACH ACCIDENT. MELBOURNE, December 28. A coach accident occurred at Mount Dandenong, where a party of fourteen picnickers were driving. Their horses swerved off tho road, and tho waggonette was precipitated down the mountain-side. All were injured, and one was conveyed to Melbourne badly crushed. The others were too serious to bo removed. Particulars are meagro [Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, December 2S. At the inquest touching the death of Louis Derccskci, a Hungarian circus hand, who hanged himself, the Coroner (Mr Graham) said that tho deceased had evidently been in a State of acute depression, suffering from extreme nostalgia. As so many foreigners died in a strange land ho had no doubt that the man was temporarily in state of insanity and ho returned a verdict accordingly.
