SYDNEY, July 29
Mr Winchcombe, chairman of theChamber of Commerce, at "the annual meeting referred to tho question of preference. He stated that New South "Wales imported more than twice the quantity from Britain that all the other countries combined imported, in spite of the fact that foreign countries took more of New South Wales's exported goods than Uritain. The total jnariiil'flH-.ures of New South Wales last year were over £42,000,000, and tho wages paid to factory employee* amounted to £7,600,000. In conclusion Mr Winchcombe stated that Australia generally was riding on a wave of prosperity and there was work for every willing worker.
