RANGIORA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

*. . Tlio annual meeting of the congregation of John Knox Church, Eangiora, was; held last evening. There was an attendance of about sixty-five member..;, and the Itev D. J. Steele presided. The report of the Session stated that the attendance at Divine service had been encouraging, and increased interest had been taken in the weekly prayar meeting'. Hood work had been done in the Sabbath School, and by the Women's Missionary Union, and a Young Women's ISiblo Class had been established. Tho results of iho annual "rally'' had been distinctly encouraging, permanent additions having been made to the number of members and adherents. The roll number was now 126, nineteen members having joined, and twenty-two lost by death or removals.

In commenting on the report Mr Steele announced his intention to resign the charge in November, owing to the unsatisfactory state of his health. The babuice-sheet showed "tho income to have boon £352 9s : k\, and tho expenditure £341 V6a lid', leaving a eredifc_ balance of £lO 12s 30d, added to which about. £b" lite had been received after the accounts wero closed. The Sunday School report stated that there were seventy scholars on tho main roll, and eight on tho cradle roll, with a staff of semi teachers. Last year's Committee, of Management was elected, with the addition of Mr and Mrs J. Anzus and Mr it. Johnston.

On the motion of Mr C. W. Bell the congregation o:< grossed Us warm appreciation of Mr Steele's ministration, and deep regret at the, ;.;tate of his li'calth and his intention to resign. Votes of thanks were passed to the Sabbath School teachers, choir and oflico-bearor-s for their services during the yenr.

A vote of fiyiupafchy with Mcj:-ir, T. Koir and J.Johnston, elders of the church, at their inability to attend the Sunday services owing 'ft; bad health. v.'«s passed.

During the. evening Mings were sung by Mrs A. Murdoch, Mrs T. R, Cresswell and Miss G. Rogers, and a duet by Mrs Mooro and Miss Rogers; Mr G. (iibbs Jord;iu contributed two organ selections, and Miss L. IWgerH a recitation, and the- choir sang two anthems.
