+ SIR H. BERKELEY'S UTTERANCES. P?eb Press Association.^ AUCKLAND, -\iay 30. With reference to {-he cable messago regarding Sir Henry Berkeley's remarks on the future of Fiji, Mr H. Berkeley, who is iu Auckland, writes: — "That Sir Henry could have given utterance to so meaningless a statement as that ' both the white and coloured population would probably be just aa pleased and contented if the present form of Government continued,' and 'they also would not object to joining either the Commonwealth or New Zealand,' is inconceivable to anyone who knows him."
