COMMISSION OE INQUIRY. At the Provincial Council Chamber tJai morning am inquiry was held before Mr W. S. Short, Crown Commissioner, -into the question of the liability of th* various . local bodies interested to contribute' towards the cost of the Ferry Bridge, at Heathcote; I Mr F. W. Johnston appeared for the Woolston Borough Council, Mr F. Pratt ; for the Sumner Council, and Mr G. M'Haffie for the Heathcote Road! Board. The inquiry was instituted' at the request of the Woolston Borough Council, wibAeh. claimed that the cost of maintenance should be made up by a levy of 60 per cent on the Sumner Borough Council, and 20 per cent each on the Heathcote Road Board fljwl the Woolston Borough Council. .-.•.';•
