On Friday, the warehouse hands of th» Kaiapoi Woollen Company met tobid goodbye to Mr W. E. Black, who isdeaving for Australia, after eight years' service with tbfe company. The Manager (Mr P. Hercus) presided, and expressed the wishes of himself and staff that Mr Black would profit by the change he was about 'to undertake, and would gain the experience he desired in tlie older colony. He then handed Mr Black a pair of field-glasses and a dressing-case from the staff. Mr Black returned thanks for the present, and after cheers had been giv4» for the recipient, the meeting dispersed. •
