ENTERTAINMENTS.
The Rev W. Ready lectjured last night at the Durham Street Wesleyan Church, his subject being "From London Streets to the Pulpit, or the Story of My Life." The •lecturer gave a graphic description of his early surroundings and subsequent career, and the audience was evidently much impressed with the recital. A very successful entertainment took rlac3 in the Fernside Schoolroom on Wednesday last. The proceeds were in aid of the school swimming bath, and produced about £3. The programme, which was much appreciated, consisted of items by the Cust minstrel troujpe, under the leadership of Mr J. Haig. Mr Searell was accompanist.
