» ... m THE ARRANGEMENTS. Lieutenant-Colonel Gordon's orders for the E * '"' l encampment at Sumner provide that tn' force will move into camp on Thursda. , April 7. Drill order will be the only order of dress throughout the camp, and will include leggings, haversacks and water-bottles, with greatcoats to be used as special orders may require. The Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry, Mounted Rifles and E Battery will be camped separately. The North and South Canterbury Infantry Battalions will be camped in brigade 1 under Lieutenant-Colonel Francis, V.D. The Lyttelton Naval Artillery will occupy Fort Jervois, and the N Battery the batteries on the Sumner Road. The mounted corps will be under the command of Major Slater, V.D. Major Young. V.D., will be camp'iquartermaater. The E Battery, Mounted Rifles, Engineers and North Canterbury Battalion will march from the drillshed, at 8 p.m. on April 7. The Waimate Rifles will travel by express train to Timaru. A special train will convey the South Canterbury troops, leaving Timaru at 7 p.m. on April 7, picking up volunteers and horses at Temuka, Orari and Ashburton. The South Canterbury Battalion on arrival at Christchurch railway station, will march to camp. The Rangiora and Kaiapoi Rifles will travel by the ordinary train, arriving at Christchurch at 7.25 p.m. The camp will break up on Monday, April 11. A train leaving Christchurch at 7 p.m., will convey the South Canterbury troops to their stations. The Rangiora and Kaiapoi corps will leave by the ordinary train at 5.15 p.m. SurgeonMajor Thomas will arrange for the attendance of medical officers in camp. Volunteers will furnish their" own bedding and mess utensils, but straw will be provided. Rations will be issued by the contractor in camp. Corps will provide for their own cooking, and transport of baggage. Officers of Engineers and Infantry will mess together in a marque provided for the purpose. Volunteers are to show the customary respect for private property, and carefully avoid damaging fences, &c, and encroaching on enclosed or cultivated land.
