The Dervish force under Mai-mud comprises two thousand cavalry and eight thousand rifles, with .seven cannon. The remainder of the enemy consists of swordsmen and'spearmen Brigadier-General Lewis's b.igade has advance-i upon Abadar. The Dervishes are concentrating upon Fmdebia. In the attack upon the Dervish horsemen the Egyptian cavalry displayed steadiness and dash.
