■▼ ; A meeting of the Land Board was held at the Board-room yesterday ; present — Messrs Sidney Weetman (Commissioner of i Crown Lands, chairman), D. MMillan, \. C. Pringle, J. M'Lachlan and K. Meredith M.H.R. Hannah Spencer was granted a lease in perpetuity of section 2, Wharenui Hamlet, Christchurch district. The following applications for transfers of ■ leases and licenses were approved :— P. P. Ryan to Margaret Jane Miller, lease in • perpetuity, lot 15, block X.', Lake Ellesmere (subiect to the erection of a dwellinghouse by April 1). L. M'Lean to John Alexander, lot 40, Highbank Settlement. The Board was busy all day in reviewing applications for the Hekeao Settlement, : and examining applicants, of whom • seventeen were rejected as ineligible.
