Southland cricket match was won by the latter by two wickets. Otago scored 105. in the second innings, and, with 43 to make, and five of the best men out, Southland's chances did not look too certain ; but Taylor again carried his bat for 17 and Carver put on 8. Hay don 25, Ludbrook 24 and M'Farlane 16 were the chief scorers for Otago. In the second innings Robertson took six wickets for 50 runs, Taylor three for 32, and Purdue one for 12. Gnnthorpe took sis for 20 and M'Farlane two for 17 in Southland's ' second innings. . .
