UNION ROWING CLUB.
A meeting of the committee of the Union Eowing Club was held at the •Clarendon Hotel last evening; present—Messrs F. E. Hyman (chairman), A. E. • Craddock, G. H. Cooper, F. A. Moore, A. Allan, I). Lee, W. G. \Atack and F. D. Kesteven. The resignation of Mr G. Cropp as secretary was received, and Mr P. M. . Collins . was elected to fill the position. " A letter was received from Mr George Norton, of Wellington, .offering a cup for competition. The .offer was accepted, with thanks. Messrs Hyman, Craddock, Cooper and Kesteven •were appointed a sub-committee to •arrange for furnishing the newboathouse. It was decided to hold the half-yearly meeting on Friday, Jam 29, at the boathouse. The opening of the new boa& house, was fixed for Friday, Feb. 19, the day after the Christchurch/ regatta. Messrs Kesteven, Wallace, Moore and Collins were appointed a sub-committee to make arrangements.. Tlie captain reported that the new racing four built by J. IL. Clasper, London, would be to hand next week. Several accounts were passed for payment. After transacting routine business, the meeting terminated.
