A SILLY JOKE.

Some excitement was (says the New Zealand Times) created at Plimmerton on New Year's Day, where a large crowd of picnickers were scattered on the beach, at the adventures of a boat manned by amateur oarsmen and having a bevy of young ladies as passengers. The apes, who had control of trie boat began "wobbling," amid the frantic screams of the ladies, and a whole chorus of screams arose from shore and sea as the boat was seen to capsize. Nothing wors. than a ducking of the passengers and crew resulted; but those responsible for the accident deserve a sound tlrrashing. Youths who think it good fun to play pranks of this kind in these boating parties ought to be made an example of.
