The leather promises to be fine for the opening of the North New Zealand Grand National Steeplechase Meeting to-morrow : —Liberator, Tally-ho, Tiritea and Hopgarden are the favoured ones for the Grand National Hurdles, for which event it is expected • that there will be a dozen starters. In to-night's Star "Hippona" selects Liberator to win. There is a great rush of visitors from the West Coast for the meeting.
