The Transvaal and Natal are favourable. Feb. 29. Messrs Francis Fitzgerald and Howard Spencely, jun., have been retained for the defence of Dr Jameson. President Kruger has formulated the conditions under which he will visit England to discuss the proposals for reforms in the Transvaal, and it i* believed that Mr Chamberlain will accept them. ! The Boers are displaying a hostile attitude to the Hollanders, believing them to be the cause of the recent trouble. Germany is making great efforts to secure the trade of the Transvaal.
