ADDINGTON YARDS.

THIS DAY. [Per " Star's " Pigeon Express.] There was a good attendance at the Addington stock sale to-day, and most classes were represented by medium entries. , Fat, Cattle. — About 175 head of fat cattle were yarded, including a couple of lines of nice steers from the Peninsula and Leeston. There were very, few heifers, and the cow beef was not of the best. The market was somewhat sluggish at the opening, but improved a little later oh. Prices, however, show a decline of about Is per 1001 bon last week's rates. Values realised were:— Steers £5 15s to £7 7s 6d, heifers £4 7s 6d to £5 10s, and cows £4 to £6, being at the rate of. 18s to 20s per 1001 b for steer and best heifer beef, and from 14s to 18s for inferior and cow sorts./ * Dairy Cows.— A medium entry of fairly good quality met a rather dull sale, the best price realised being* £7 sa. Store Cattle. — The store pens w;ere well supplied, the entry embracing some very nice, useful young cattle, which, however, had not been offered when our express left. i Fat Sheep.— The entry of fat sheep was a small one, the bulk being cross-bred ewes of varied quality, with but a few pens of freezers. Owing to the length of the fat lamb sale it will be late before this class is reached. Fat Lambs. — The yarding of fat lambs was larger than for some weeks past, and the quality was very mixed. The sale dragged somewhat for all but the very best sorts, and last week's rates were barely maintained for inferior to middling lambs. Butchers' sorts brought from 6s 6d to 8s 6d, freezing quality from 9s to lis 6d, and up to 12s 6d for an extra good line. Store Sheep. — There was a large and mixed entry of store sheep, and the scarcity of feed caused by the continued dry weather had the effect of making buyers somewhat shy. However, taking this into consideration, a very fair sale resulted. Mixed four-tooth cross-breds brought 9s 6d to 10s lOd, do two-tooths 7s 6d to 9s lOd, cross-bred ewes from 4s 8d to 6s lld, crossbred lajnbs from 4s 6d to 7s 6d, merino ewes 2s Id. Pigs. — Pigs were well represented, but buyers did not seem so anxious to operate as of late, and all classes of fat suffered, porkers more especially, but stores were in good demand. Prices realised were 36s to 45s for choppers, 30s to 44s for baconers, 13s to 24s for porkers, 9s to 15s 6d for good i stores, and 4s to 8s 6d for smaller sorts. Baconers 3 Jd per lb, and porkers 3d. i
