The following team has been selected to represent Otago against Canterbury in the annual cricket match • — Johnston, Fisher, Baker, Downes, Parker, Clarke, Boddington, Spraggon, Clayton, Hope and Haydon, WELLINGTON, Feb. 9. In the senior cricket matches yesterday Midland badly beat the Rivals. The former finished their first innings with a record for Wellington of 510 runs, of which S. Tucker, who was not out on the previous Saturday, contribxited 109, and was then given out lbw. The Rivals only put together 134 in their second innings, thus suffering defeat by an.inriings and .256 runs. In the Wellington-Phcenix match the former, who were in a minority on the first innings, scored 300, Holdship carrying out his Sit for a well hit 163. Phoenix replied with 122, and were beaten by 158.
