A deputation waited this afternoon upon the Premier to urge a remission of the sen -6DC-* on Keri Kaibau. Mr Hone Heko said tbe offenca had been committed under the influence of Tawhiao, and there was no danger of a repetition. The Premier said he ec mid not recommond a remission. K6ri had boon twice previously -convicted and released en promise of good behaviour. Ho had heard from Tawhiao himaelf that Kefi had acted on his owu responsibility. At the annual meeting of tbe Rival Cricket Club to-night, Mr C. J. Owen, of Chriatchureh, was re-electeel vice-presi-dent, and Mr C. T. Jonee, lafce of Lancaster Park, wasappointed captain.
