— •■"" ■ Cli_rißte_i___rc_i. The elections for the South-west and Richmond Wards of the city created very little interest and no excitement. The polling-placo for tbe South-west Ward, where Dr Stewart and Mr Lightband contested the Beat,, was at St Michael's school, whero Mr T. Turner acted aa deputy-re-turning-officer.. The candidates for Richmond were Messrs Flesher,. Sorensen and Widdowson, nnd Mr WoooVrou^h officiated as deputy-returning-offii_er. The polling place was at the 1 Foresters'' Hall, Yogel Street. The result of the polling waa na follows :— 60UTH-TVEST TW-ED. Votes. Dr Stewart 322 Mr C. D. Lightband , 1&7 Informal ... ... ... 3 Two hundred and fifty-two ratepayers voted out of 524 on the roll. BIOHMOND WABDI Mr H. T. WiddowEoa ... 100' Mr J. A. Flesher 70 Mr H. B. Sorensen 18 Informal .... 5 There aro 258' names on tlie Richmond roll. Dr Stewart and' Mr Widdowson have been declared duly eleoted.
