I I Special to Pbisb Association.! i SHANGHAI, Sept. 12. j Japan has concluded a treaty with >' Corea, At the latter'? request, Japae 1 undertakes to expel the Chiuese from Corea, and maintain the integrity of the country. The treaty^ remains in \ force until the war is concluded, j A rabble of Chinese soldiery in looting Tientsin and illusing the populace. In consequence of the ill-success of the Chinese arms, Li Hung Chang's influence is waning. Recruiting for the Chinese fleet is going on freely. The men show an excellent spirit, especially the juniors. Europeans are greatly surprised at the ease and rapidity with which the ships are handled. The Japanese are mobilising troops. By the treaty with Corea, Japan promises to provide supplies of food ' for the Corean troops. J Li Hung Chang appears unable to . push on either the naval or military . preparations with the necessary speed.
