The Scottish coal-owners have offered to agree to arbitration, on condition that the miners return to Work immediately at their old rato o f wages. SIDNEY, Sept. 12. "f hq Shearers* Strike. In Legislative Council, on the mo Vton for adjournment, a lengthy die- , cuEßion has taken place on the shearers' difficulty. The deaire was expressed to see s'rike camps declared illegal gatherin ge. Mr Jacobs suggested that military with Gatling guns should be sent up. The Attorney - General positively declined to take such action, or to remain a member of any Government which did so. The motion was formally negatived. The Pastoralisbs' Union has declined to accede to the suggestions made through the Conciliation Board, declaring that it has no dispute with the employ^, farther than that acts of lawlessness committed by a section of the shearers precluded acceptance of the suggestions.
