Wellington Chamber of Commerce.
♦ £Peb Pbess Association. I WELLINGTON Apbil 7. At the Chamber of Commerce to-day, it was stated that the Underwriters' Association had agreed to an all-round reduction of ten per cent on clock risks. Eecently when a deputation waited on him relative to the Te Aro railway, the Minister for Public Works, in reply to one of the members, said he hoped that, in the interests of the public, the Eailway Commissioners would not be re-appointed. The Council of the Chamber of Commerce today carried a resolution regretting the Minister's reply, and resolved to communicate with other Chambers on the Bubjeot. The Council also decided to communicate with the Napier Chamber on the question of the safer packing of arsenic.
