It was decided that a public meeting should be called at an early date to arrange for the i raising of subscriptions. The residents of the Borough of Eangiora will not be behind in showing practical sympathy for the families rendered homeleas by the Brisbane floods. This morning the Mayor (Mr J. Sansom) and Councillors Blackett, Cone, Foster, Roberts, . Keir and Jennings started on a canvassing tonr through the Borough, and it givea 1 pleasure to be able to state that up to noon i the monetary response met with was most gratifying. Mr E. Sandford, President of the Trades and Labour Council, has received a requisition from a number of Trades and Labour Unionists, asking him to convene a

Crook have arranged to give an enter- . tainment at the Theatre Boyal, to-morrow week, for the benefit of the Queensland Flood Funds.
