The Elderslie's mutton, shipped at Melbourne, has arrived in good condition. At the wool sales medium greasies are slightly in buyers' favour. Much Colonial bought wool was withdrawn, speculation being slack. The wheat market is very flat. MELBOURNE, Feb. 15. The Government intends to ask Parliamentary authority to float a million loan to carry on public works. It is proposed to raise the money locally at 4£ per cent, with twenty-five years' currency. SYDNEY, Fbb. 15. Wheat.— Chick 2s lOd to 2s lid, milling 3s6dto 3a 7d. Flour,— New Zealand; '4BB. Oats.— Firm at 2s 9d; prices will be better, determined on the arrival of New Zealand shipments.
