[_Pjsb Pitaaa AB9ociation.J DANEVIEKE, Jan. 21. Mr W. 0. Smith, M.H. k. for Waipawa, was banqueted in the Town Hall last evening, one hundred and twenty being present, includiug Mr W. L. Eees, M.H.R. for Auckland. Mr Ballance was absent through illness. Mr Smith met with a splendid reception, and during the evening was presented with a purse of one hundred sovereigns. Messrs Eees and Smith leave for Wellington to-day. HAWEBA, Jan. 21. In view of the probable vacancy for the Egmont seat, a requisition is being signed urging Mr E. C. Bruce, formerly member for Kangitikei, to offer himself for election.
