THE MASTER BAKERS.

The adjourned meeting of the master bakers of Christchurch and the suburbs was held, according to arrangement, at the Shades Hotel on Saturday evening* at which there was a full attendance, Mr J. T. Faville in the chair. The chief busineßS of the evening was the enrolment of the various members of the trade, who, having paid in their bond money, were added to the roll. In response to a request of a former meeting, a guarantee wasreceived from the uiiUera^which had been signed by the principal firms, to the effect that in future they would not supply any baker who attempted to cut down the price of bread below that arranged by the master bakers. The meeting then terminated, after arranging to hold a general • meeting on July 29.
