Kaiapoi Farmers' Club.
A meeting was held last night, at the Club's rooms, Kaiapoi, Mr Thomas Pashby in the chair. There was a fair attendance, and it was decided, on the motion of Mr Holland, that, if possible, the Club's annual ploughing match be held aa usual. The Chairman said he h»d been connected with this annual event for thitty years, and wonld he extremely sorry to Bee it fall through. He believed these ploughing matches did much good in encouraging their youth, and in aiding the local manufacture of ploughs and other implements, which he was sure could' not be beaten ia any part of the world. Times were hard now, but doubtless brighter things were in store for the country. (Hear, hear.) An adjourned meeting will be held on Monday next, at 7.30 p.m., at the Club's rooms, and as Mr Parnham has offered a suitable paddock, it is to be hoped every effort will be made by those interested to make this fixture a success.
