The Waimakariri.
CONFERENCE OP LOCAL BODIES. A conference, called in pursuance of a resolution passed at a public meeting, held at the Kaikainui Hall, on May 14 last, consisting of two delegates each from the Eyreton Road Board, Kaiapoi Borough Council, and Waimakariri Harbour Board, was held last night at the temporary Borough Offices, Kaiapci. The chair was taken by Mr Evans, Chairman of the Eyreton Road Board, and Messrs Hansen and Kidd, representing the Kaiapoi Borough Council, were the only other delegates present. The object of the meeting- was to consider the best manner in which the three interested bodies should lake sters to deal with the question of the overflow of the Waimakariri. It was decided, with a view of obtaining a full attendance, to adjourn until Monday evening next, at 6 p.m., at the same place.
