NEWS FROM CHINA.
\by blbotbio txlbqrapb — ooptbiqbtj. [Betjteb'b Telkgrams.] SYDNEY, Jblt SI. The latest news from China reports that the s.s. Benledi was wrecked on Jane 18, while on the voyage from Swatow to Cheefoo. The passengers and crew had a narrow escape from drowning. Swarms of Chinese boatmen looted the cargo, consisting of 4000 bags of sugar and sundries, as well as the whole of the fittings and effects, and attempted to sink the boats. China is preparingto seize Port Hamilton, directly it is evacuated by England, and the Japanese will consider this as a direct menace, being a breach of the treaty concluded between the two countries, under which each should refrain from sending troops to the Corean territory. The pacification of Tonquin is being rapidly effected by the French, though the Black Flaga continue to push their victories over the Chinese troops.
