FATAL ACCIDENT.

[Per Pkess Association.] AUCKLAND, July 31. Two boys were drowned to-day at Newton in a water-hole, which was formerly used as a quarry. The pit had been filled with water through recent rains, and a number of children were playing at the spot, when one, named Wm. White, aged 9, fell into a hole, and an older brother, Charles, jumped in to rescue him. In diving the latter struck a rock at the side and wag etunned, both lads being drowned.
