CHARGE OP EMBEZZLEMENT. AUCKLAND, Jtjly 30. A dead body was found this morning in the water near the Railway wharf. The name of the deceased is unknown. A man named Cross, Clerk to the Poverty Bay Harbour Board, was arrested to-day, charged with embezzling JE2l 6s 7d, the property of that body. THE GENERAL POST OFFICE. WELLINGTON, July 81. Tenders are called for the re-building of the General Post and Telegraph Offices, recently destroyed by fire.
